Anyone who thinks that the Salento is an area where only spend the summer, make a great error. The Leuca land where our house of Marina di Novaglie Holiday, is a perfect place to spend a spring break vacation. In fact, the area is teeming villages and historic towns to get lost in alleys, palaces and ancient mills … Mirror, for example is one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, and owes its name to piles of stones which can still be seen here and there, they are called “specchie”, used as a defense or as watchtowers against potential enemies.
Particularly rich in castles is the town of Tricase, that within its territory has three of these structures: the Baronial Castle of Trane (Tutino), built in the late sixteenth century by Don Luigi Trane carparo yellowish and local stone; the Depressed Castle, currently owned by the Baron Riccardo Winspeare, built in the fourteenth century; Castle of Chevron, built in the thirteenth century.

Among the most famous are the Palazzo Comi Lucugnano, home of the poet Girolamo Comi and currently houses the Provincial Library “Girolamo Comi” and “Museum Comi” where the writings of the poet Salento are preserved; Licari Palace and Palazzo Ducale in Alessano; Ciardo Palace, birthplace of the painter Vincenzo Ciardo and Palazzo Daniel, elegant aristocratic villa in Art Nouveau style in 1863, Gagliano del Capo.

The agro Salento is almost everywhere cultivated, and the arboreal vegetation is mostly made up of expanses of olive trees, twisted trunks and large.
